Three uploads for NEET
The NTA application for NEET asks for three images: a passport-size photograph, a postcard-size photograph and a signature. The two photographs must be JPG files between 10 KB and 200 KB each, and the signature a JPG between 4 KB and 30 KB. The postcard photograph is the 4 × 6 inch size.
| Document | Format | File size | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passport-size photograph | JPG | 10–200 KB | Recent colour photo, plain white background |
| Postcard-size photograph | JPG | 10–200 KB | 4 × 6 inch size |
| Signature | JPG | 4–30 KB | Sign on white paper with a dark pen |
The information bulletin for your year is the authority. Check it on neet.nta.nic.in, because NTA can change formats and limits between sessions.
Preparing the photographs
- Take a recent colour photo against a plain white background, with your face clearly visible and filling most of the frame. Even light, no shadows.
- Drop it on this page, pick the passport-size or postcard preset and crop.
- Download each JPG and upload it in the right field. Make the postcard version from the original, not from the passport version.
Keep several printed copies of the same photograph. You will need to bring photographs later in the process, and they are expected to match the one you uploaded.
The signature
Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, in your usual signature and in the space allowed, then scan or photograph it flat. Choose the signature preset and crop around it. The range is generous at the top end, 30 KB, but starts at 4 KB, so a very clean signature may need to be nudged up. The preset handles that automatically.
Avoiding rejected uploads
- Wrong format. The form wants JPG; a HEIC photo from an iPhone needs to be converted first.
- Photo too dark or too bright. Retake it rather than editing it heavily.
- Photos that do not match. Use the same photograph for the online form and for printing.
- A file that is too large. The tool reduces it to 200 KB or less, and larger files can be compressed to a target.
For other exams, see IBPS, UPSC and SSC, or the exam size chart. Your files are processed on your device and never uploaded.
